The Lion King II: Simba's Pride Re-Write
Welcome back, everyone! Next up on my "Rewrite" series is "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride." As sequels go, it's... fine. A lot of us were happy to see the continuation of "The Lion King" when this movie came out. However, it was obvious Disney was playing safe with this one; there were some dark themes in this sequel that should have been explored, but Disney didn't seem ready to tackle those issues. For example, shouldn't Kovu be a lot more ruthless due to being trained to kill at an early age? Why did Zira- or any lioness- follow Scar considering what happened under his rule? And Simba's protectiveness toward his daughter would have made more sense if his past trauma had been brought up more. We saw some of this, yes, but Disney could have done a LOT better. Some of us had another question regarding Kiara. You see, back in the 90s, a series of books called "The Lion King: Six New Adventures" were released and they featured a cub named Kopa, the son of Simba and Nala. This made
